TRANSIT LOG DOCUMENT (PERMISSION FOR FREE MOVEMENT IN TURKISH TERRITORIAL WATERS)

Transit Log Certificate is a mandatory document for the free movement of foreign flagged boats in Turkish territorial waters. We provide services within the scope of the following transactions:

FOREIGN FLAGGED BOATS MATTERS TO BE CONSIDERED

- Tax Liabilities:
Foreign flagged boats must regularly pay their annual taxes and fees in the countries where they are registered. Interest may be charged on late payments and prolonged non-payment of taxes may result in cancellation of the boat registration.
 
- Transit Log Duration Tracking:
The validity period of the Transit Log documents of foreign flagged boats, which must be renewed every year, is 1 year. They can stay in Turkey for a maximum of 5 years, at the end of this period the boat has to go abroad.
 
- Mandatory Documents:
In order for foreign flagged boats to sail smoothly in Turkey, all official documents must be kept on board. It is important that these documents are notarised, translated and apostilled.
 
- Transit Fuel Utilisation:
Foreign flagged boats can benefit from transit fuel purchase only when they are going abroad.
 
- Prohibition of Registration on Person:
In Turkey, it is illegal for non-resident individuals to register a foreign flagged boat in their own name. Such registrations must be made in the name of a foreign company.
