TURKISH PORTS REGISTRATION AND VISA PROCEDURES

The registration and visa procedures to be carried out by boat and ship owners in Turkish ports must be carried out in accordance with the legal regulations. In this context, the following documents must be issued and the necessary visa procedures must be performed:

  • Mooring Log Licence (Mooring Log Registration)
  • Ship Registry Certificate (Ship Registry Registration)
  • Minimum Safety Certificate

FIRST APPLICATION AND DOCUMENT PROCEDURES

In order to maintain port records and commercial activities, some transactions must be carried out regularly:

  • Annual Visa Purchase
  • Preparation of the Annual Report
  • Name and Address Change
  • Cancellation of Certificate and Recovery of Collateral Fee
  • Open Alcoholic Liquor Licence

COMMERCIAL BOATS MATTERS TO BE CONSIDERED

  • For commercial yachts under 18 Gross Tonnage, it is compulsory to obtain a Mooring Log Licence.
  • Seaworthiness Certificates of commercial vessels should be renewed on time.
  • For commercial yachts, an annual Vessel Health Certificate must be obtained and renewed before it expires.
  • Boat rental companies should regularly issue invoices for each rental transaction.
  • The qualifications of the crew of a commercial yacht must be appropriate to the characteristics of the vessel and the master must be authorised.
  • At least one crew member on board must have a Radio Licence to use navigation and navigation devices.
  • Yacht owners who benefit from the reduced fuel tax application must regularly submit the activity reports issued by the financial advisor to the tax office.
  • Documents whose visa is not renewed are cancelled and re-application is required.


Documents Required for Commercial Boats

  • 50 Net Gross and above Minimum Safety Certificate for commercial yachts
  • Loading Limit Certificate for commercial yachts over 24 metres or 150 Gross
  • All commercial yachts of 10 metres and above operating in the Bosphorus
  • It is required to have an AIS device and this must be recorded in the radio licences.


These regulations are mandatory to ensure that commercial boats operate in a safe and legal framework.
