Turkish Ports Boat Registration Procedures
- Mooring Log Licence: Visa, transfer, sale, port change procedures are compulsory.
- Radio Licence: Radio call code, licence, pre-permit, AIS device procedures.
- Import & Export: Boat entry-exit and customs procedures.
- Port Authorisations: Required for newly built boats.
- Boat Insurance: Compulsory motor insurance.
- Amateur Mariner Certificate & Short Range Radio Licence: Renewal, visa and loss procedures.
Important Regulations
- As of 2009, Motor Vehicles Tax was abolished and replaced by Mooring Log Fee.
- For private yachts, the Mooring Log Licence is compulsory and must be visa'd within the due date.
- For yachts sailing with a Municipal Licence, port registration is compulsory and a Mooring Log Licence must be obtained.

Mooring Log Licence Fees
Fee Amounts (Annual)
- 5-6,99 m: 5.037,50 TL
- 7-8,99 m: 7.196,50 TL
- 9-11,99 m: 10.794,70 TL
- 12-14,99 m: 21.589,50 TL
- 15-19,99 m: 35.982,50 TL
- 20-29,99 m: 71.965,00 TL
- 30 m and above: 143.930,00 TL
Special Cases
- Boats under 4,99 m are exempt from the fee if the licence is renewed for reasons such as sale, visa, change of information.
- No fee is charged for renewed licences due to loss of documents or wear and tear.
- The licence can be issued for 1 to 5 years. For example, a 5-year licence for a 13 m boat: 107.947,50 TL.
Mooring Log Regulation Amendments
- A renewal application must be submitted at least 15 days before the licence expires.
- Licences renewed after expiry start from the expiry date of the old licence.
- Boats that are not renewed for 5 years are deleted from the mooring register.
Administrative Fines (for unregistered boats)
- 2,5-10 m: 250 TL per metre
- 10-20 m: 500 TL per metre
- 20-30 m: 750 TL per metre
- Over 30 m: 1.000 TL per metre
- In addition to the penalty, an increase of %5 is applied for each delayed month.

Boats for maritime transport and fishing are exempt from licence fees.
